Bangladesh - New 132/33 GIS substations, a new cable system and a 4-circuit 132 kV transmission line
The project shall contribute to the Sustainable Power Sector Development Program II by securing proper voltage levels, and thus reducing transmission losses. This improvement of the transmission system is necessary to achieve a sustainable restructuring of the power sector. The project includes the following measures:
- Lot 1 - Substations: Construction of new 132/33 kV GIS substations at Lalbagh and Madertak, and conversion of 132/33 kV Dhanmodi transformer station into a regular substation, including construction of an additional 132 kV bay (one and a half breaker scheme) at Rampura Substation

Guinea/Mali - 225 kV Interconnection Guinea - Mali
In order to accelerate the implementation of its priority projects, the West African Power Pool (WAPP), on behalf of EDG and EDM, commissioned this project to prepare the construction of an HV overhead line and associated substations from N'Zékéroré (Guinea) via Fomi (Guinea) to Bamako (Mali). The project includes a feasibility study and the preparation of prequalification and tender documents for the following installations:
- the construction of 714 km of 225 kV line,
- the extension or new construction of six 225 kV substations in Guinea (N'Zérékoré, Fomi, Beyla, Kérouané, Kankan, Siguiri), and
- the construction of a new 225 kV substation in Sanankoroba, some 25 km west of Bamako (Mali).

Regional - EU Programmes on Energy Efficiency

The project aimed at supporting financial intermediaries (FIs) and final beneficiaries (FBs) during the implementation and operation of EU Programmes on energy efficiency ("Facilities"). These facilities combine grants provided by the EU with EIB credit lines which aim at promoting the implementation of energy efficiency projects (sub-projects) in the EU and EU candidate countries. EU and EIB established a new facility called "Green Initiative" which covered Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia.
The Consultant's role was to assist the EIB and to support FIs and FBs in the implementation and operation of the Green Initiative and other similar facilities to be managed by the EIB. Services to be provided by the Consultant were two-fold: general assignments, i.e. assistance to the FIs and FBs, but also services directly related to specific energy efficiency subprojects.
- General assignments include sub-project pipeline screening, marketing activities, training to FIs and general support to FIs.
- Specific sub-project-related services include preparation of sub-project applications for financing, sub-project verifications, energy audits, and energy performance certificates.

Liberia - Biomass Power Potential and Possible Renewable Energy (RE) Investment Projects
The "Scaling-up Renewable Energy Program" (SREP) of the Strategic Climate Fund will be financing the Liberia Investment Plan for Renewable Energy (IPRE) that aims to support the Government of Liberia's objective to provide access to electricity in rural and urban areas.

Uzbekistan intends to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by diversifying the energy generation mix. Several small-scale wind power installations exist, most of them, however, have local (off-grid) or pilot character. The project studied and assessed the potential for installing wind generation facilities on an industrial scale.

Burkina Faso - Reinforcement of Electrical Infrastructure and on Rural Electrification (PRIELER):
Objective of this project was the elaboration of draft studies that deliver sufficient justification for the implementation of the following works:
- Restructuring and extension of the electrical networks of Ouagadougou,
- Construction of the 132 kV interconnection line Zano - Koupèla.
Design studies, preliminary cost estimates, time schedules, detailed design, and tender dossiers were prepared to determine all requirements for an efficient implementation of the two projects.
A feasibility study was carried out for the interconnection line Zano - Koupèla resulting in the detailed design for the line, including line route study, environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA), and the choice of the substation locations.

Home Energy Africa (HEA) has obtained a siting clearance approval from the Energy Commission of Ghana for the installation of a 100 MW solar PV plant at Sankana, Nadowli-Kaleo District, Upper West Region. The site has a size of 200 hectares and shall be connected via a 161 kV power line. The electricity that will be produced by the planned PV plant shall be sold to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
HEA has retained the clean energy financial advisor GreenMax Capital Advisors to manage the solicitation of the different services required for the development of the above plant.

The RDC will complete the EMS functions of the national dispatching centre (NDC), and certain interfaces will be integrated to ensure the ex-change of information between the two dispatching centres.

Poland - Polish SME Sustainable Energy Financing Facility ("PolSEFF")
Background: The EBRD places special emphasis on supporting investments that improve energy efficiency or promote renewable energy and has highlighted Poland's potential for sustainable energy investment as a priority in the Bank's country strategy for Poland. Energy prices in Poland are increasing, and significant amounts of energy are wasted through out-dated and inefficient equipment and a lack of monitoring and control devices. Through SEFFs (Sustainable Energy Financing Facilities), the EBRD can reach smaller projects to which it cannot lend directly. Each credit line is supported by a substantial and complex technical assistance package that builds capacity in the local market and helps investors and local PFIs (participating financial intermediaries) overcome some of the barriers that hinder the implementation of these investments
Objectives of the Project: PolSEFF is expected to create a self-sustaining market for investment in sustainable energy projects in the Polish SME sector. This will be achieved by ensuring that PFIs become familiar with appraising and financing eligible energy efficiency and small renewable energy investment projects, SMEs become aware of the competitive advantages of such investments, local experts have the technical expertise to assist SMEs in identifying and preparing technically feasible, bankable projects.

Background: The EBRD places special emphasis on supporting investments that improve energy efficiency or promote renewable energy and has highlighted Poland's potential for sustainable energy investment as a priority in the Bank's country strategy for Poland. Energy prices in Poland are increasing, and significant amounts of energy are wasted through out-dated and inefficient equipment and a lack of monitoring and control devices. Through SEFFs (Sustainable Energy Financing Facilities), the EBRD can reach smaller projects to which it cannot lend directly. Each credit line is supported by a substantial and complex technical assistance package that builds capacity in the local market and helps investors and local PFIs (participating financial intermediaries) overcome some of the barriers that hinder the implementation of these investments
Objectives of the Project: PolSEFF is expected to create a self-sustaining market for investment in sustainable energy projects in the Polish SME sector. This will be achieved by ensuring that PFIs become familiar with appraising and financing eligible energy efficiency and small renewable energy investment projects, SMEs become aware of the competitive advantages of such investments, local experts have the technical expertise to assist SMEs in identifying and preparing technically feasible, bankable projects.
