Bangladesh - Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project (EEGBPSP)
The P.R. of Bangladesh received a loan from KfW Development Bank for the "Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project". Objective of this project is to increase reliability and efficiency of the electricity supply in the country through expanding and improving the 230 and 132 kV power transmission systems of PGCB. Technical measures under the project include the following:
- new construction, extension or rehabilitation of 230/132 kV, 2 x 225/300 MVA GIS and AIS substations,
- new construction of 132/33 kV GIS and AIS substations,
- new construction, renovation or stringing of second circuit of 230 kV and 132 kV transmission lines (single or double-circuit), including OPGW,
- various line in/line out connections to 132 and 230 kV substations,
- installation of additional line bays at some 132 or 230 kV substations,
divided into 7 lots.

Benin - Regional and Cotonou Electrical Distribution Grid Strengthening
The overall purpose of the project is the reinforcement and rehabilitation of the existing electricity distribution system in and around Cotonou and in the regional cities of Parakou, Natitingou, Djougou, and Porto Novo, including conducting the Environmental and Social Assessments (ESIAs) for this work. Works are divided into three activities and include inter alia the following technical measures:
Regional Grid Strengthening Activity:
- New 161 kV infeed including switchgear and transformer, installation of a new 33 kV substation in Natitingou;
- Modification and upgrade from 20 to 33 kV of some 120 km of rural OHL connections near Parakou;
- Upgrade of existing 161 kV installations and upgrade of some 140 km of rural OHLs and associated transformers from 20 to 33 kV in the Djougou area;
- New 63 kV connection, related switchgear modifications, upgrade of some 130 km of rural MV connections from 15 to 33 kV and replacement of associated transformers in the Porto Novo area;
- General network improvements;
Cotonou Grid Strengthening Activity: new lines, new switchgears, new substations and city network extension (63 kV connections and cable ring, 15 kV and LV connections, new 63 kV switchgear, new transformers 161/63/15 kV, etc.)

UAE - Dubai EXPO 2020 - Design and Construction Supervision Consultancy Services
In 2020, the UAE will host the Expo 2020 in Dubai, which site is located adjacent to Al Makthoum International Airport and between Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai International Airport. The site covers a total area of 4.38 km², and will have the capacity to accommodate up to 300,000 visitors per day and a total of 25 million visitors.
The sustainability and renewable energy mix based concepts in this project cover various aspects related to rental and/or temporary access to building roofs for installation of Solar PV panels (BIPV, BAPV) during Expo 2020 Dubai's six-month event period and most flexible concepts for renewable energy systems integrated into other projects. The portfolio of renewable energy assets considered in this project contains solar PV, Waste-to-Energy anaerobic digestion, wind energy, solar hot water, fuel cells, energy storage, solar cooling, and/or other future RE technologies, e.g. transportation concepts for e-mobility to be deployed along with a smart grid infrastructure.

The scope covers the following stages for integration of renewable energy to meet sustainability targets, considering the terms and practices set forth in RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architectures) through all stages as detailed below:
STAGE 1: Master Plan Validation and Review and Feasibility Study:
- Master Plan validation to guide the planning process for the integration of renewable energy technologies through careful evaluation of the current Master Plan in order to ensure that the targets (Sustainability KPIs) of the Dubai Expo are met
- Development of Renewable Energy Strategy for the Expo Development in line with EXPO guiding principles
- Authority and stakeholder coordination and Interface management
- Technical and Financial Feasibility Study of Solar PV and other Renewable Energy systems on the Expo development covering:

The purpose of this supervision contract is to provide EPS (Elektroprivreda Srbije) with the necessary assistance in the coordination, supervision, and project and site management of three supply contracts.
The technical equipment to be installed under the project includes the following:
- a mobile transformer substation 110/35 kV, 20 MVA (Lot 1)
- three mobile transformer substations 35/10 kV, 8 MVA (Lot 2)
- a remote monitoring and control system for the MV distribution grid in the area of Elektrosrbija Kraljevo (Lot 3).

The project's objectives are to improve the quality and reliability of power supply of TANESCO's networks, to evacuate power from the generating centre Dar es Salaam to the Tanga and Arusha regions, and to provide capacity building on operation and maintenance of EHV transmission systems. The project includes the construction of the following installations:
- a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line from Kinyerezi to Chalinze (approx. 115 km)
- a 400 kV single-circuit transmission line from Chalinze to Arusha via Segera (approx. 549 km)
- a 220 kV double-circuit transmission line from Segera to Tanga (approx. 64 km)

Iraq - German Credit Facility to Assist the Return of IDPs in Iraq (GCFI) – Management and Monitoring Consultant
Rebuilding territories liberated from terrorist activities constitutes a priority to the Iraqi Government as part of its overall objective of long-term recovery and stabilisation. The overarching objective of the GCFI is to contribute to the permanent return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their home locations in Iraq. To this end the GCFI will support investments into the restoration of local economic and social infrastructure. The Programme will cover interventions in the energy, water/sanitations, roads/bridges, education and health sectors, with an initial focus on energy, water/sanitation and roads/bridges.
Major tasks of the Management and Monitoring Consultant (MC) are:- Support ReFAATO in setting up the Monitoring system of the programme

2017 - 2020Iraq - German Credit Facility to Assist the Return of IDPs in Iraq (GCFI) – Management and Monitoring Consultant
Rebuilding territories liberated from terrorist activities constitutes a priority to the Iraqi Government as part of its overall objective of long-term recovery and stabilisation. The overarching objective of the GCFI is to contribute to the permanent return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their home locations in Iraq. To this end the GCFI will support investments into the restoration of local economic and social infrastructure. The Programme will cover interventions in the energy, water/sanitations, roads/bridges, education and health sectors, with an initial focus on energy, water/sanitation and roads/bridges.
Major tasks of the Management and Monitoring Consultant (MC) are:
- Support ReFAATO in setting up the Monitoring system of the programme
- Capacitate the Project Management Teams (PMT) at the relevant Line Ministries in their role as PIAs, especially prior to the engagement of the GCFI Technical Implementation Consultant (TC)
