Bangladesh - New 132/33 GIS substations, a new cable system and a 4-circuit 132 kV transmission line
The project shall contribute to the Sustainable Power Sector Development Program II by securing proper voltage levels, and thus reducing transmission losses. This improvement of the transmission system is necessary to achieve a sustainable restructuring of the power sector. The project includes the following measures:
- Lot 1 - Substations: Construction of new 132/33 kV GIS substations at Lalbagh and Madertak, and conversion of 132/33 kV Dhanmodi transformer station into a regular substation, including construction of an additional 132 kV bay (one and a half breaker scheme) at Rampura Substation
- Lot 2 - Cable system: Construction of a new 132 and 33 kV underground cable system
- Lot 3 -Transmission lines: Construction of 4-circuit 132 kV overhead transmission lines, including a river crossing

Togo/Benin - Rehabilitation of the Lomé - Cotonou - Onigbolo Line
In order to improve the supply in electrical energy through the 161 kV line Akossombo - Lomé - Cotonou - Onigbolo and to extend its lifetime, the CEB obtained a credit from the European Investment Bank to carry out the following works:
- strengthening of structures,
- reinforcement of some tower foundations,
- reshaping of the maintenance path,
- replacement of the ground wire cable by an optical ground wire cable,
- replacement of the HV equipment and the line bay control part in the substations connected to these lines,
for which this project provides technical assistance.

- participation in bid opening and analysis, support to CEB to answer Bidder's requests for clarifications,

Guinea - Development Scheme for the Electrical Networks of Conakry
With the perspective to develop the country's electricity sector, the Government of Guinea decided to give a new momentum to the country's electrification programme so as to improve citizen's lifestyle, productivity and earnings. For this purpose, the Government sought the financial support of the African Development Bank for the implementation of the rural electrification project.
The study on the development scheme for the electrical networks of Conakry consists of the preparation of a programme for the improvement of electricity allocation from the transmission towards the distribution network by means of the following:
- construction or renovation of substations,
- restructuring and rehabilitation of the medium-voltage network,
- replacement of medium-/low-voltage substations,
- rehabilitation and extension of the low-voltage network.

In order to accelerate the implementation of its priority projects, the West African Power Pool (WAPP), on behalf of EDG and EDM, commissioned this project to prepare the construction of an HV overhead line and associated substations from N'Zékéroré (Guinea) via Fomi (Guinea) to Bamako (Mali). The project includes a feasibility study and the preparation of prequalification and tender documents for the following installations:
- the construction of 714 km of 225 kV line,
- the extension or new construction of six 225 kV substations in Guinea (N'Zérékoré, Fomi, Beyla, Kérouané, Kankan, Siguiri), and
- the construction of a new 225 kV substation in Sanankoroba, some 25 km west of Bamako (Mali).

The project consisted in the design and construction supervision of a tower testing station for Electromontaj S.A. in Bucharest. The station can carry out design and sample tests for tubular towers and steel lattice towers, self-supported or anchor type. The testing station is capable to do design tests for giant and multi-circuit towers with 80 m height, 35 x 35 m base, 800 t compression load and 730 t tension load.
